Bridget Kay Hoag

Sunday April 1st - a day out to Burney Falls, hiking around waterfalls and having a lovely picnic.

9pm: I finally gave in and went to the hospital (was supposed to be there at 6:30pm) arriving just in time to use the main hospital entrance. Jared snapped a picture of me just before leaving for the night and I fire up Wallace & Grommit Curse of the Wererabbit!
The focus of the next 18 hours...
April 2nd

8am: Start Pitocin... yuck!
11am: Jared arrives

12pm: Jared goes for lunch and I watch Harry Potter between contractions

2pm: I realise this is serious business and get down to utilizing the breathing techniques!
7pm: Jared eats dinner between contractions
10pm: Kim our lovely nurse was supposed to go home but arranged to stay with us
10:30pm: BAD contractions - have a change of position and in control of contractions again

12:30am: Pitocin turned off - having own contractions slower and less severe
1am: Contractions are too slow, Pitocin back on (sniff sniff)
2am: No progress in transition, doctor is called as Bridget starts to experience distress
2:30am: Margaret our new nurse lets us know that Dr Oliva arrived and ordered a C-section
3am: Prepared for C-Section, puke!
3:27am: Bridget is born (hurray!)

Beautiful baby girl... 8lb 2oz, 21.5 inches long, naughtiness as standard.
