Bridget getting ready to pick out a Christmas Tree |
Bridget had to check that she was indeed as cute as we suggested before heading out to the tree lot.
Clearly Jared, Bridget and I have somewhat differing strategies when it comes to getting ready for an outing.
Being British, I first check the weather conditions, temperature first and foremost, followed by current degree of precipitation... choosing clothing accordingly to be as warm and dry as possible.
Jared chooses the ugliest, scruffiest, most embarrassingly stained, ripped and ill fitting clothes he can find (as he'll be doing the heavy lifting, chopping and trimming and therefore most likely to be covered in sap and other sticky, smelly and potentially revolving substances).
Bridget looks for shoes, shoes are a great favourite of Bridget's, the more unsuitable and stolen the better! Here she found a pair of Pink Nine West Wedges and proceeded to chase the cat around the house before getting herself and Jared a new hairdo to match her delightful self-selected outfit!
Marie cat is an important member of the family and rarely misses a family outing.
Yup... Leopard Print with Pink Cowgirl boots - classy ;) |
Bridget & Marie peruse the Christmas tree lot, though if we're honest, it was a fair amount of running around while I tried to pick out a tree and corral her into having her picture taken!
Action Shot... the only kind you really get to take these days! |

Then the decorating really began...
Bridget didn't think much of the Candy canes on our garland for the cat tree, fortunately she remedied the issue on our behalf. |
I think this first introduction was a success - though clearly Bridget is letting our Reindeer know exactly who is boss in the house.

residence!
So, having been true to my Coull family traditions of putting up the tree and decorating as close to December 1st as possible, Bridget and I embarked on our own Hoag family tradition of making a new ornament for our tree. Last year we made heart hand prints... this year we went for stars, although Bridget's style is a little more 3D and takes significantly longer to bake! That said, we did manage to create a good selection of stars for our tree and some lovely Bridget stars for keepsake ornaments which were very beautiful indeed!
Bridget loves Salt dough, though I'm not really that delighted that she enjoys eating it nearly as much as she loves rolling it!
Bridget gave a fabulous rendition of Pat-a-cake during our Salt dough session, which consisted of singing ROLL ROLL ROLL ROLL ROLL ROLL ROLL over and over again and ending her serenade with 'a B'!
