Burney Falls

So it gets pretty hot here in Anderson - Jared was off for Independence Day (or as I like to think of it - Good Riddance Day) and by 11am it was 99*F outside. We decided to head up to Burney Falls which is routinely 8 - 10*F cooler than Redding/ Anderson.

 We had a lovely walk around the falls loop and enjoyed the spray and misting from the spring fed falls.

 At a balmy water temperature of 48*F I decided not to swim today! But Jared and Miss Baba dipped their feet at the base -- spot them above!

Looked a little precarious in the footing

 so Bridget and I just watched and enjoyed the cool breeze

 Though Bridget found it a little boring ^

 After demanding to be carried out of the sling we headed up to the General Store for some Ice-cream and to try on their selection of truly hideous hats.

Home in time for dinner and off to see some fireworks... lovely!
